Throughout my years in ministry, I have encouraged pastors and leaders to embrace the power of steady, faithful perseverance. William Carey, known as the Father of Modern Missions, once said, “I can plod. I can persevere in any definite pursuit. To this I owe everything.” His life proved that God’s greatest work is often accomplished not through extraordinary talent, ideal conditions, or instant results, but through extraordinary faithfulness. Carey faced rejection, opposition, loss, delay, hardship, and even the destruction of years of work in a single fire, yet he kept moving forward one faithful step at a time.

That is why PLOD ON has become my motto. It reminds me to keep trusting God, keep learning, keep serving, and keep going when progress feels slow or unseen. PLOD also represents the four foundational areas of my teaching: Preaching, Leadership, Organizational Health, and Development. These disciplines equip leaders to communicate God’s Word effectively, lead with integrity, build healthy organizations, and cultivate continual growth. The message is simple: success is rarely explosive; it is usually the result of quiet, relentless, faithful plodding. When you are rejected, when the storm hits, when no one applauds, and when you feel like quitting–Plod On.
